An armed barricaded man wanted for domestic violence surrendered to sheriff’s deputies Wednesday evening in Compton after being barricaded for more than 5 1/2 hours.
Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau personnel responded to the 400 block of North Rose Avenue, between Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue, around 5 p.m. Wednesday to assist Compton Sheriff’s Station deputies with a barricaded armed suspect, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
“The suspect was taken into custody around 10:40 p.m.,” Deputy Brenda Serna told City News Service.
The barricade prompted a evacuation of nearby residents and Serna said they are in the process of returning now that the man has surrendered.
