A 54-year-old man was charged Friday with a hit-and-run collision that killed a woman in Anaheim.
Kien Manh Do was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies, as well as a misdemeanor count of failing to stop at a collision with injury or death. Do is also facing a sentencing enhancement for fleeing the scene after committing a vehicular manslaughter.
Do did not enter a plea at his Friday arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. The hearing was rescheduled for Feb. 9 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Do was involved in two collisions Jan. 5. The first was at Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue near Disneyland, where he struck at least two pedestrians, according to court records.
The defendant allegedly left that scene and struck Judith Stanford in a collision at Harbor Boulevard and Convention Way, according to court records. Stanford was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her age and city of residence were not provided.
Do was arrested Wednesday, according to police records.
