A 68-year-old man killed while attempting to cross a street in North Hollywood in the middle of a block outside a crosswalk was identified Friday.
A white sedan traveling northbound on Vineland Avenue, north of Vanowen Street, struck Marcos Ordonez Thursday around 1:05 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The driver continued to drive the car north on Vineland Avenue without stopping to render aid to the suffering victim, police said. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location and pronounced Ordonez dead at the scene.
Los Angeles offers a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of drivers in hit-and-run cases.
