A fire that possibly started near a space heater damaged a two-story home in Highland Park Saturday, authorities said.

Firefighters dispatched at 8:51 a.m. to 115 E. Avenue 39 had the blaze out within 20 minutes of their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

“Firefighters found a two-story home with fire on the second floor and extending into the attic,” the LAFD’s Nicholas Prange said. “Crews advanced fire attack hose lines inside the structure, as ventilation crews cut holes in the roof to allow heat and smoke to escape.”

The department said it took 34 firefighters to access, confine and extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported, Prange said.
