Firefighters worked Saturday afternoon to contain what appeared to be a petroleum product that leaked from a large pipeline onto a Wilmington street.
The leak was reported at 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of East Anaheim Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.
“Crews now have the flow shut down, and are working to contain as much of the product as they can, and protect storm drains and waterways,” Prange said.
Firefighters expected to remain on the scene to help clean up the mess, he said.
