Detectives continued to piece together clues Saturday following an unsuccessful search for two burglary suspects in the Sherman Oaks area who fled as officers arrived.

Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a burglary report in the 3900 block of Oakfield Drive, off Beverly Glen Boulevard and near The Buckley School, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The area is residential, but no further details were provided about the reported break-in.

The area was locked down and a SWAT team was called to the scene, but no suspects were immediately located. Police said the two suspects — one of the them allegedly armed — fled from the area as officers arrived.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the alleged burglary was urged to call the LAPD’s Van Nuys station at 818-374-9500. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or tips can be sent to lacrimestoppers.org.
