A 35-year-old man who was killed when his SUV swerved off a Lancaster road, overturned and was thrown from the vehicle was identified by county authorities Saturday.
Zachary Berger of Pearblossom was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office. His cause of death was blunt force trauma.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to Pearblossom Highway west of 165th Street East around 7 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a crash in which a motorist was ejected from the vehicle.
Detectives determined Berger was driving a 2018 Nissan Armada east on Pearblossom Highway when he swerved off the roadway and overturned for reasons still under investigation, the CHP said.
CHP officials said Berger was not wearing a seatbelt.
