A fire damaged a bungalow in the south Los Angeles area Monday, and a dog was found dead at the scene, authorities said.
Firefighters sent to the 11900 block of South Hoover Street at 12:33 p.m. extinguished the flames in 25 minutes, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No one was home at the time, and no one was injured, Prange said.
“Sadly, one canine was found deceased inside,” Prange said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
