A fire damaged an apparently vacant condominium Wednesday in the Venice area, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the 300 block of South Sixth Avenue at 1:01 p.m. extinguished the flames in the first-floor unit in 16 minutes, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The property was cordoned off and appeared to be vacant,” Prange said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
