A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department recruitment drive to fill multiple sworn and non-sworn positions will be held in Riverside next week, and officials said applicants who meet initial criteria can expect to begin the background check process quickly.

“Recruiters will be on-site throughout the event to provide career information and offer application assistance to interested individuals,” according to an agency statement. “The sheriff’s office currently has openings for correctional deputy, court deputy, deputy sheriff, 911 dispatcher and … support positions.”

The “Expedited Hiring Event” is slated from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, 16791 Davis Ave.

Those prospects who are ready to proceed with meeting baseline qualifications will be invited to take written exams and do physical agility tests on the spot.

“This unique event offers prospective applicants the opportunity to … begin the background check process in one day,” according to the sheriff’s department.

Applicants must be 18 years old, have government-issued identification and wear attire suited to exercise.
