Reports of an explosion at the District at Tustin Legacy shopping center led to an evacuation of some businesses Tuesday, but police said the blast turned out to be a detonation of some homemade fireworks and no injuries were reported.
Police were dispatched to the shopping center just after 1 p.m. regarding a report of an explosion, Tustin police Lt. Matt Nunley said. Some businesses were evacuated as a precaution, but investigators determined the situation involved homemade fireworks.
A male suspect was detained for questioning, Nunley said.
It was unclear exactly where the fireworks had detonated.
