Four suspects were taken into custody Thursday in connection with the robbery of a liquor store in Manhattan Beach.

According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, officers responded around 5:10 a.m. to a burglary alarm at the BevMo store in the 1700 block of Rosecrans Avenue.

Officers saw a vehicle leaving the location, prompting a pursuit that ended in Inglewood, where five suspects got out of the vehicle and tried to flee on foot.

Four suspects were taken into custody, but the fifth eluded capture.

“Alcohol from the burglary was located inside the vehicle,” police said.

Detectives identified the suspects as 33-year-old Deondrae Jenkins of Lancaster, 20-year-old Emmalee Rosser of Los Angeles, 21-year-old Marcia Populas of Los Angeles, and a 17-year-old girl from Lancaster.

All four suspects were taken to the Manhattan Beach Police Department jail.

Police said the same BevMo store was burglarized three times during the month of February, with the suspects smashing the front window and fleeing with alcoholic beverages.

It was unclear if the suspects arrested Thursday were linked to the earlier heists.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries was urged to contact Detective Joe Udeoji at 310-802-5121.
