A suspect was taken into custody Saturday after a nearly five hour standoff in Huntington Park.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department’s Century Station responded at approximately 10 p.m. Friday to the 2400 block of Cole Place and Santa Fe Avenue where the man barricaded himself, said the sheriff’s department.
LASD’s Special Enforcement Bureau personnel were called to help negotiate with the suspect, who surrendered to authorities at approximately 2:48 a.m. Saturday.
Neighbors who had been evacuated due to the barricade were allowed to return to their homes, authorities said.
