A 36-year-old man was killed outside his Wilmington home in what investigators said they believe may have been a gang-related shooting, authorities said Monday.

The shooting was reported at 8:20 p.m. Sunday at 327 King Ave., near C Street, Officer Dennis Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center told City News Service.

Three male suspects between the ages of 15 and 20 came to the victim’s home and the 36-year-old man stepped outside, Orris said. There was a confrontation and one of the suspects shot the victim.

The suspects got into a vehicle and drove away, he said. Jose Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Investigators believe the shooting may be gang related, Orris said.
