A person suspected of narcotics possession who eluded law enforcement in a high-speed pursuit Wednesday was taken into custody.

The details of where the chase began remain unknown as the suspect vehicle traveled on surface streets, reaching up to 90 miles per hour.

The motorist occasionally drove on the wrong side of the street, nearly colliding with other uninvolved vehicles.

KCAL reported that shortly after 7 p.m., the vehicle began to travel on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway toward Sherman Oaks before exiting onto Van Nuys Boulevard.

The vehicle then pulled into a parking structure at Westfield Fashion Square, where the Los Angeles Police Department assisted in the pursuit. Officers located the vehicle inside the parking structure, which was later abandoned.

The suspect was presumed to have run inside the mall from the parking structure. At least one suspect was taken into custody around 7:12 p.m., KCAL reported.
