A nearly 100-year-old home in Westwood was damaged in a greater alarm fire that took firefighters a half-hour to extinguish, authorities said Sunday.

No injuries were reported.

The fire at the two-story, 3,795-square-foot residence was reported at 1:56 a.m. Sunday on the 900 block of South Malcolm Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the attic and second floor of the house, which was built in 1927, Humphrey said.

The cause is under investigation.
