Firefighters quickly extinguished an intense attic fire at a home in the Vermont Knolls area of South Los Angeles Wednesday evening.

The fire was reported at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday, and firefighters responded to the 800 block of West 76th Street near Hoover Street, where they found the blaze at the rear of the home, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

Crews deployed hose lines to the rear of the home to extinguish the flames where two bedrooms were also on fire, Prange said.

It took 32 firefighters 19 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
