Firefighters battled flames Sunday in the detached garage of a Vermont Vista home and kept it from spreading to nearby structures.
The fire was reported at 8:48 p.m. Sunday at 801 W. 106th St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Mark McLean.
The garage was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived, McLean said.
“Rapid firefighting tactics allowed 34 firefighters to get a knockdown in 21 minutes, preventing horizontal and vertical spread of fire,” he said.
Firefighters planned to remain at the scene putting out hot spots, he said.
