Authorities Monday sought the public’s help to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in fatally injuring a pedestrian in Reseda.

The man, in his 60s, was injured about 9 p.m. Sunday on Sherman Way and Etiwanda Avenue, and he died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

According to police, the man was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk “when he fell to the ground,”

“The pedestrian remained on the ground, unable to get up from lanes of traffic, when a dark-colored sedan going east on Sherman Way struck him,” an LAPD statement sad. “The driver of the sedan continued east on Sherman Way, failing to stop or render aid as required by law.”

A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit-and-run.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective Otrosina at 818-644-8036, or Officer Santos at 818-644-8024. Tipsters may also call 877-LAPD-247, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS; or they may use the website www.lacrimestoppers.org.
