One person was hospitalized Wednesday evening after a vehicle slammed into a transformer, rolled over into a ditch and knocked down several electrical wires, resulting in a power outage in San Fernando.
The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. near Truman and Workman streets, knocking out power in several city blocks, KCAL 9 reports.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and took the victim to a hospital in an unknown condition.
Representatives from Southern California Edison were contacted and were expected to arrive at the scene to repair the downed wires and broken transformer box.
The San Fernando Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
