Police Wednesday circulated security video of a van that fatally injured a woman who was pushing a shopping cart on a road in Northridge, and detectives sought the public’s help to find the hit-and-run driver.
The crash occurred around 2:55 a.m. Monday on Tampa Avenue and Business Center Drive, according to Los Angeles Police Department Detective Jonathan Otrosina of the Valley Traffic Division.
“She was struck from behind by a white Chevrolet Express van with side windows and front-end collision damage,” Otrosina said in a statement. “The driver of the van continued northbound on Tampa Avenue and made a right turn to eastbound Nordhoff Street.”
Paramedics pronounced the woman, in her 30s, dead at the scene. Her name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.
The city has a standing reward offer of up to $50,000 for information leading to a conviction in a fatal hit-and-run.
