A suspect is in the hospital Thursday after being shot by Torrance Police Department officers in Torrance Thursday.
The shooting was reported just after 3 a.m. and officers responded to the area around Torrance Boulevard and Reynolds Drive regarding an officer needs assistance call. When they arrived, they learned detectives from the department’s Gang and Narcotics units were serving a search warrant at one of the residences when someone shot at them and an officer-involved shooting occurred, Fox 11 reported.
The 44-year-old man was taken to a hospital by Torrance Fire Department personnel in an unknown condition.
Police closed all lanes of Torrance Boulevard from Anza Avenue and Reynolds Drive for an unknown duration while they investigated the shooting, the department reported.
