A vehicle that caught fire Thursday near a Temecula elementary school was destroyed, but crews prevented the flames from extending to surrounding properties.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 4 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Mira Loma Drive and Rancho Vista Road, in the immediate vicinity of Vail Elementary School, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that four engine crews were sent to the location and encountered a vehicle “fully involved” with flames.
Firefighters quickly deployed and prevented the fire from spreading, completely knocking it down at 4:12 p.m., according to officials.
No roads were closed as a result of the blaze.
The cause was under investigation.
