One person was killed and three others were injured in a fiery two-vehicle collision Saturday in the West Adams area of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were called at 2:55 a.m. to 2601 W. Obama Blvd. and Sixth Avenue where they learned one of the vehicles sheared a fire hydrant during the collision and subsequently slammed into a house, which then caught on fire, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

One person, whose age and gender were not known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old woman, an 18-year-old-man and a 19-year-old woman were taken to a regional trauma center with unspecified injuries, Humphrey said.
