Authorities Saturday were looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a man on a bicycle in Lake Balboa.

The crash occurred about 8 p.m. Friday on Woodley Avenue between Victory and Burbank boulevards, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A silver-colored vehicle speeding southbound on Woodley Avenue collided with the approximately 40-year-old man on a bicycle, according to the department.

The man died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, the LAPD reported.

The driver fled the scene, continuing south on Woodley. A make and model of the vehicle were not available.

Anyone who witnessed the collision was asked to call the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8000. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
