Gunshots inside a Perris home Monday prompted a Riverside County sheriff’s SWAT response and a possible standoff, though few details were immediately available.
Deputies went to the house near the intersection of Cane Bay Lane and Albillo Loop on Monday morning to investigate reports of “shots fired” in the two-story residence.
A heavy law enforcement presence was at the location by mid-afternoon, but sheriff’s officials were mum on what might have transpired, telling City News Service they were “gathering information on the incident” but were as yet unprepared to say anything further.
It was unclear whether anyone was killed or wounded.
County fire personnel were not staging at or near the property, suggesting there were no immediate concerns of anyone in need of medical attention.
