Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies asked for the public’s help Sunday to find a 69-year-old missing woman from Coachella.
The California Highway Patrol joined in the search to find Margarita Castro by issuing a Silver Alert on behalf of the sheriff’s department.
Castro was last seen about 11:05 a.m. Sunday in Coachella and was believed to be on foot, the CHP reported.
Castro is Hispanic. She stands 4 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 104 pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes, the CHP reported. She was last seen wearing a black cardigan sweater, black pants, black shoes and carrying a white satchel bag.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly, developmentally or cognitively impaired person has gone missing and is determined to be at risk to provide immediate information to the public and aid in their swift recovery.Anyone who knows her whereabouts was asked to call 911 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s at Thermal at 760-863-8990.
