A man and a woman suspected of assaulting a driver and vandalizing his vehicle in Hollywood were taken into custody Tuesday after investigators executed search warrants at two Los Angeles residences.

Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Area detectives, with the assistance of Metropolitan Division investigators, located 20-year-old Jacob Esteban Hernandez of Rosemead and 40-year-old Angie Teresa Guizar of Los Angeles around 6 a.m. Tuesday after conducting two residential search warrants, according to the LAPD.

Hernandez was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism with a bail set at $50,000, while Guizar was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail was set at $30,000.

On Dec. 31, officers responded to the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard, near Highland Avenue, around 3 p.m. after at least four members of a minibike gang assaulted a driver and vandalized his vehicle due to the him allegedly causing damage to one of the minibikes.

“One of the minibike riders is captured swinging an object at the victim, nearly striking him. After the assault, the minibike riders vandalized the motorist’s vehicle while his 10-year-old child remained in the front seat. The victim and his child did not sustain any serious injuries,” police said in a statement.

Multiple videos of the altercation surfaced on social media, and various media outlets also obtained the footage, police said.

The footage assisted law enforcement officials with critical information in identifying and arresting the two suspects.
