A 40-year-old woman who was killed in a collision in Pomona was identified by county authorities Friday.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Miranda Wheeler. Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.

Pomona Police Department officers were called to East Mission Boulevard and South Reservoir Street at 10:09 p.m. Wednesday regarding a collision with a pedestrian. Upon their arrival, they found the victim in the roadway, according to reports from the scene from KeyNews.TV.

The driver who struck Wheeler remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Police closed westbound and eastbound Mission Boulevard while they investigated the traffic collision.
