A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist who fled the scene, authorities said Sunday.
The crash occurred about 11:20 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Roberta Street, according to Riverside police Sgt. Emilio Angulo.
The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was in the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle that was southbound on Kansas Avenue, Angulo said. The driver fled the scene.
The fatal crash was under investigation by the Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team.
The pedestrian was not identified at the scene, and her name will be released by the Riverside County coroner’s office.
