A 20-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in El Monte was identified Thursday by authorities.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office identified the pedestrian as Armando Gonzalez. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman said.
The fatality was reported at 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 12000 block of Garvey Avenue, Pittman told City News Service.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Gonzalez’s death was ruled as an accident and he died of blunt force trauma.
