An off-duty Los Angeles police officer accidentally fired her service weapon inside her home, but nobody was injured, police said Monday.
The weapon discharged around 8:30 p.m. Friday while the unidentified officer was loading it, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The bullet struck a baseboard and embedded in a wall, police said.
The location of the accidental shooting was not released, with police saying only that it occurred in the officer’s home outside the city of Los Angeles.
Investigators from the department’s Force Investigation Division responded to her home and were investigating the discharge.
