A fire that erupted Friday in a mobile home near the Metrolink tracks in Perris extended to two outbuildings and a vehicle but did not impact commuter train traffic before it was stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. near the intersection of C and First streets, on the west end of the city, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in an RV, spreading to two outbuildings and a car, less than 2,000 feet west of the tracks.

Firefighters encircled the location and completely contained the blaze at 2:25 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

The RV, outbuildings and vehicle sustained major damage.

It was unclear whether anyone was displaced.

Sheriff’s deputies shut down a segment of C Street for public safety, but the nearby Downtown Perris Metrolink Station remained accessible. The closure was lifted at 3 p.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
