Multiple people were shot in Compton Friday evening.
Deputies were sent to the intersection of Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard around 7:45 p.m., where multiple individuals had been shot and taken to a hospital in unknown conditions, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and an investigation was ongoing Friday evening. KCAL reported that at least one person was pronounced dead.
Sheriff’s officials could not immediately confirm if a death resulted from the shooting.
