A man was killed and five other people were injured in a shooting in Compton Friday evening.
Deputies were sent to the intersection of Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard outside Compton College around 8 p.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide Lt. Omar Camacho.
Witnesses at the scene told ABC7 the shooting occurred at pool party at a home nearby. Video from the scene showed deputies searching the backyard of a home for evidence.
Four injured victims — three women and one man– were taken to a hospital, according to the Compton Fire Department. KCAL 9 reported a sixth victim walked into a hospital two hours after the shooting.
The extent of their injuries and conditions were unknown.
There was no description of a suspect.
