A fire in the garage of a two-story home in Sylmar Tuesday evening was extinguished in 22 minutes by 30 firefighters with no injuries reported.
Firefighters were called at 9:41 p.m. to the home at 12989 Herrick Ave. near Polk Street, where they encountered flames coming from a detached garage that had collapsed, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
Crews deployed handlines to the rear of the two-story home and contained the fire to the garage, Prange said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
