A child was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday near Dockweiler State Beach.
The fatal crash was reported at 5:47 p.m. Saturday in the 12200 block of Vista del Mar, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im told City News Service.
The girl was struck as a vehicle backed out of a private property, Im said. He did not know whether the driver was related to the girl.
KFI reported on the social platform X that its sources said the victim was described as possibly being a 2-year-old girl, and that a parent may have accidentally run her over.
An investigation was underway, Im said.
