A man police believe jumped from an overpass on the Hollywood (101) Freeway was struck and killed by at least one vehicle in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said Tuesday.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 9:45 p.m. Monday to the southbound freeway and North Broadway where they found the victim in the freeway traffic lanes.
The Los Angeles Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, LAPD Officer Tony Im told City News Service.
According to the CHP, the victim might have been struck by multiple vehicles.
The CHP issued a SigAlert and closed four lanes of the freeway while they investigated the collision.
