Authorities Tuesday arrested a motorist who led them on a short chase in a pickup in the downtown Los Angeles area, and authorities discovered drugs and cash inside the vehicle after the pursuit.

The 10-minute pursuit began about 9:35 a.m. in the area of Mateo and Alameda streets and ended at Figueroa and Second streets, near the Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Information was not immediately available on the name of the suspect or on what led to the chase.

Video from the scene aired by KCAL9 showed officers inspecting three large bins that were in the truck and contained vacuum-sealed packets of a white powder. The station later reported that 190 pounds of methamphetamine were found in the truck, along with a large amount of cash.
