Riverside County Fire Department crews knocked down a fire on a Coachella truck stop roof Wednesday.
The blaze, reported at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday, started to burn atop the TA Travel Center in the 46100 block of Dillon Road, just south of Interstate 10. Firefighters responded to a report of “heavy smoke coming from the roof,” according to Cal Fire spokesperson Rob Roseen.
The fire was knocked down at 11:22 a.m., according to a fire department statement. Department personnel expected to remain on the scene for approximately four hours.
It was not immediately clear whether the flames threatened the fuel depot. No injuries were reported, Roseen told City News Service.
