Two drivers were arrested on outside felony warrants and 29 were arrested for operating a vehicle without a license or while driving with a suspended or revoked license during a driving under the influence/driver’s license operation Saturday in Riverside.
In addition to the six abovementioned arrests, three other motorists were arrested for DUI, said Sgt. James Elliott of the Riverside Police Department.
The DUI checkpoint was held at University Avenue, east of Ottawa Avenue, between the hours of 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.
A total of 718 vehicles were screened during the checkpoint, Elliott said.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
