Authorities are searching for a bank robber Thursday.
Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station deputies arrived on scene following reports of a bank robbery at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 72000 block of Highway 111 and were told the suspect had fled.
The investigation led deputies to believe an unarmed suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. Neither the amount of money taken nor the direction the suspect headed were immediately known.
Deputies are searching for white man in his 50s between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and 150 to 175 pounds. He was wearing a green baseball-style hat, dark-framed prescription glasses, light green T-shirt and jeans.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the suspect’s immediate whereabouts was asked to call 911 or contact Investigator Mitroff at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at 760-836-1600.
