Amid a continuing heat wave, flames consumed about two acres of grass Friday and at least one structure in Palmdale.
The fire was reported around 6 p.m. in the area of 12th Street East and Avenue Q5. Crews on the scene reported hearing some explosions from the vicinity of the blaze, which burned at least one out-building in the area.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
