Police sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in locating a 65-year-old man diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease last seen in South Gate.

Benito De La Cruz was last seen at his residence near the intersection of Missouri and Truba avenues around 7 a.m. on July 1, according to South Gate Police Department Detective Gina Vargas.

Benito was described as a 5-foot-4-inch tall Hispanic man weighing 125 pounds with white hair and brown eyes. He also has a missing front tooth and was last seen wearing a gray beanie, a gray shirt and blue jeans.

Vargas said Benito’s family is growing concerned about his well-being and is asking for the public’s help in locating him.
