Los Angeles firefighters assisted Sunday in containing a five- to 10-acre brush fire that broke out in Ventura County and threatened a nearby residence.

The fire was reported at around 4:20 p.m. Sunday at nine Saddlebow Road, near Bell Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Around 6:45 p.m., The Ventura County Fire Department posted to social media that the blaze had been knocked down and Los Angeles personnel were released after air and ground resources provided assistance.

Fire personnel protected structures in the area and no injuries were immediately reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
