A man suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body when a fight in Long Beach escalated into a stabbing attack, authorities said Sunday.
The suspect fled on foot prior to the arrival of officers, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers dispatched at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday to a stabbing in the 1700 block of East Anaheim Street located the victim, who was transported by paramedics to a hospital in stable condition.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and a male adult suspect were involved in a verbal dispute, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim,” police said. “Suspect information is under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.”
