Fire broke out Saturday evening in a garage under two-story condominiums in a Northridge building but firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading.
The fire was reported at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at 18452 W. Lemarsh St., near the Northridge Recreation Center, according to the Los Angeles fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
Nearly 50 firefighters put out the flames in just over 20 minutes and kept it from spreading to living areas, Stewart said.
“Firefighters faced excessive storage conditions in the garage which provided a high fire load,” she said. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire and amount of loss were yet to be determined, Stewart said.
