A man was struck and killed Wednesday on a Mead Valley road.
The fatality was reported just before 9 a.m. in the 23300 block of Cajalco Road, just west of Patterson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was hit while walking on Cajalco, but no further details were immediately available.
The driver did not attempt to flee.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
CHP officers questioned the motorist, but there was no indication that the person was arrested.
Cajalco was partially shut down at the location.
An investigation was underway, and anyone with information about the accident was asked to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-324-7210.
