An autopsy was pending Thursday on a motorist whose vehicle slammed into an Eastvale warehouse.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 5300 block of Goodman Way, just west of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Rafael Lopez said the driver, whose identity was not immediately released, apparently lost control, veering off of Goodman and slamming into the structure. No one in the building was injured.
County fire department paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and found the victim gravely injured. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
All of Goodman Way, which is lined with warehouses, was closed for several hours while deputies conducted a preliminary investigation.
There was no immediate indication of what might have precipitated the crash.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley station at 951-955-2600.
