A motorcycle rider died Friday after being struck by a dark sedan on the San Diego (405) Freeway in North Hills.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 2:11 a.m. to the northbound freeway and Nordhoff Street where they found the victim and the sedan in the middle lanes of the freeway, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The motorcyclist was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as 30-year-old Raymond Cody Gomez of Lancaster.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the northbound freeway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the collision.
